The Drain Guard Protector BM46 CONDDC is an anti-flood and backflow prevention device designed to fit into drainage inspection chambers, gullies, or pipe outlets. It prevents foul water, sewage, and vermin from backing up through the drainage system and entering a property during heavy rain or sewer surcharges.

How do I install the BM46 Drain Guard over my gully?

The unit features two rotating clips or tabs. You position the guard over the gully surround, mark the fixing points on the wall or gully edge, drill masonry holes, and screw the clips into place to hold the unit firmly down.

Can I fit downpipes or boiler condensate pipes through this guard?

Yes. The plastic material is easy to cut or drill. You can use a hole saw or utility knife to create custom apertures for rainwater downpipes, boiler condensate lines, or waste pipes to feed directly into the gully through the guard.

What size gully surround does the BM46 fit?

It is sized at approximately 300mm x 300mm (12" x 12") to fit standard 9-inch square gully surrounds. Its stepped profile (taller at the back to sit flush against the external wall) accommodates typical domestic wall-mounted drain outlets.

Will it restrict water flow into the drain during heavy rain?

No. The guard features slotted side and top vents designed to maximize water intake while filtering out leaves, twigs, moss, and garden debris.

Is the plastic UV-stable for outdoor use?

Yes, it is manufactured from heavy-duty, weather-resistant plastic designed to withstand UV exposure and freezing temperatures without cracking or decaying over time.
