Digby Limestone Classic Mystic Sky Paving is a natural stone flagstone range designed to create bold, elegant outdoor living spaces. Characterized by its dark, inky steel-grey and charcoal tones, sawn edges, and lightly textured natural surface, it is commonly used for:

• Patios & Outdoor Living Areas: Provides a sleek, contemporary floor space for outdoor dining, entertaining, and garden terraces.

• Garden Paths & Walkways: Offers a durable, non-slip natural stone surface for defining pedestrian routes across gardens.

• Modern & Traditional Landscape Framing: The clean sawn edges allow for crisp joint lines, making it equally suitable for modern minimalist gardens or contrasting with traditional brickwork.

• Courtyards & Raised Terrace Tops: Used to finish flat courtyard areas or as surface paving for raised patio platforms.

(Note: Standard 22mm calibrated natural limestone slabs are designed for pedestrian foot traffic and are not suitable for driveways or vehicle loads.)

Will the dark colour of Mystic Sky limestone fade over time?

Yes. Like all black and dark grey natural limestones, Mystic Sky naturally lightens when exposed to UV sunlight and weathering, gradually softening into a stylish mid-grey tone. To retain its original deep charcoal/black appearance, apply a colour-enhancing stone sealer shortly after installation.

Does Mystic Sky require a priming slurry during installation?

Yes. Applying an SBR or polymer-based priming slurry to the underside of the slabs before laying on a full wet mortar bed is crucial. Limestone is dense, and priming creates the necessary adhesive bond while preventing moisture stains from bleeding through from the bed.

What joint width should I leave between slabs?

A joint gap of 10mm to 15mm is recommended. This accommodates minor natural size tolerances (+/- 2-3mm) and gives jointing mortar or brush-in jointing compound sufficient room to fill completely.

Can acid-based cleaners be used on Mystic Sky paving?

No. Never use acid-based patio cleaners or brick acid on limestone. Limestone is composed primarily of calcium carbonate, which reacts aggressively with acid, causing permanent chemical etching, pitting, and discoloration. Always use pH-neutral stone cleaners.
