• Pre-Primed Surface Finish: Factory-applied white primer coat seals the board, saving time on-site and providing a smooth base that requires only a final topcoat of satin, gloss, or eggshell paint.

• Moisture-Resistant MDF Core: Constructed from high-density, moisture-resistant MDF (MR-MDF) that will not warp, twist, split, or knot like natural timber skirting.

• Extra-Long 4.2m Lengths: Long span minimizes joints along large walls, creating a seamless, clean architectural finish throughout residential and commercial rooms.

How do you cut MDF skirting without splitting or fraying the factory primer?

Use a high-tooth-count mitre saw blade (60 to 80 teeth) running at full speed. Cutting with a fine-toothed blade prevents the fibrous MDF core from flaking or tearing the primed surface edge.

What is the best way to fix MDF skirting boards to a plasterboard wall?

Apply high-tack construction adhesive (such as a hybrid polymer or solvent-free grip adhesive) along the back of the board. Secure it temporarily in place using a few lost-head pin nails driven into the timber wall studs or plasterboard plugs while the adhesive cures.

How do you join two lengths of MDF skirting on a long straight wall?

Use a 45-degree scarf joint rather than a butt joint. Overlapping the angled ends and applying wood glue inside the joint creates a seamless seam that will not open up or show a hairline crack under thermal expansion.

Do you need to sand pre-primed MDF skirting before painting?

Lightly sand the factory primer with a fine-grit sandpaper (220-grit) to remove any site dust, minor scuffs, or raised fibers around cut edges. Wipe off the dust with a tack cloth before applying your topcoat.
