Pressure Treated Timber Closeboard Green Fence Panels (also known as feather edge fence panels) are heavy-duty, high-privacy garden boundary panels designed to construct durable, long-lasting property perimeters.

Featuring vertical, overlapping feather edge boards fixed onto robust horizontal backing rails and finished with a protective top capping strip, they are primarily used for:

• High-Privacy Boundary Fencing: Creating a solid, non-see-through barrier along rear garden borders, side passages, and residential boundaries.

• Exposed & Windy Locations: Offering superior structural strength and wind resistance compared to standard lap panels, making them ideal for gardens prone to harsh weather.

• Easy Panel Replacement: Sliding directly into standard slotted concrete fence posts or fixing onto wooden posts using standard metal fence brackets.

• Long-Term Rot Protection: Utilizing pressure-treated timber with a pale green preservative tint, providing deep resistance against ground moisture, fungal decay, and insect attack.

Timber products are typically delivered by one of our vans or pickup trucks. Delivery is kerbside and the final offloading position is always subject to safe access and the driver’s discretion.

Why does the panel have a green tint?

The green tone is caused by the copper-based chemical salts used during the pressure-treatment vacuum process. Over time (typically 3 to 6 months outdoors), the green tint weathers down into a warm honey-brown and eventually turns silver-grey under UV sunlight.

Can I paint or stain a pressure-treated green closeboard panel right away?

No, it is best to wait. Freshly pressure-treated timber contains residual moisture. Allow the panel to dry out and weather naturally for 2 to 3 months after installation before applying any solvent-based paint, stain, or timber oil to ensure proper adhesion.

Do I still need a gravel board if the panel is pressure treated?

Yes. Although pressure treatment offers high rot resistance, constant ground contact with wet soil or standing water will significantly shorten the panel's lifespan. Installing a concrete or timber gravel board underneath keeps the bottom edge dry and off the ground.
