How are 50mm pressed slabs manufactured compared to standard garden slabs?

They are hydraulically pressed during production using high pressure. This process squeezes out excess air and moisture, resulting in an extremely dense, uniform concrete flag with superior compressive strength, precise dimensional consistency, and excellent resistance to frost and heavy wear.

What foundation is required for 50mm medium-duty concrete flags?

They should be laid on a compacted sub-base of MOT Type 1 (100mm to 150mm deep) topped with a full mortar bed (4:1 sharp sand to cement mix). For heavy public footfalls, a semi-dry mortar bed or specialized pavement bedding layer is used to ensure maximum stability.

Can a vehicle drive over 50mm pressed slabs occasionally?

While designed primarily for heavy pedestrian traffic, 50mm pressed flags can handle occasional over-run from light service vehicles (like riding lawnmowers or small mobility carts), provided they are laid on a fully consolidated, continuous concrete or mortar bed without hollow spots.
