Smaller angular gravels interlock, whereas 20-50mm pebbles rolling underfoot can create an unstable surface. Use them strictly as decorative ground cover.

Do the stones look different when wet?

Yes, significantly. When dry, they have a soft, matte, pastelly finish. When wet or submerged in water, the pinks deepen to vibrant salmon tones, the greys darken, and slight sparkles within the quartz become much more visible.

Are Flamingo Pebbles safe for fish ponds?

No. Flamingo decorative aggregates typically contain marble (calcium carbonate), which gradually dissolves into the water and raises the pH level to alkaline. This disrupts water chemistry and can be harmful to fish and aquatic plants.
