Fence Post Cap 5" x 4"

The Fence Post Cap (5" x 4") is a practical and decorative finishing accessory designed to protect the vulnerable end-grain of timber fence posts from weather damage. Sized to fit standard rectangular timber posts measuring 5 inches by 4 inches (or metric equivalents), this cap acts as an effective physical shield over the top of the post.

Manufactured from high-quality softwood that typically undergoes a pressure-treatment or preservative dip process, the cap is built to endure constant outdoor exposure. The primary function of a post cap is to prevent rainwater from pooling directly onto the exposed wood grain at the top of the post—the area most susceptible to water absorption, splitting, and subsequent fungal decay. By shedding water away from the center of the post, it significantly extends the structural lifespan of your timber supports.

In addition to its protective benefits, a fence post cap adds a neat, professional, and finished aesthetic to any garden boundary, tying the entire fencing run together. Easily fixed into place with exterior-grade nails or screws, this trade-quality cap is a small investment that delivers long-term durability and a polished look for your fencing project.

Made from pressure treated FSC certified timber.
