• Easy Future Panel Maintenance: Making fence panel replacement effortless—damaged timber panels can simply be lifted up out of the slots and swapped for new ones without removing or resetting the posts.

How deep should a slotted concrete fence post be buried in the ground?

Rule of thumb: bury 2ft (600mm) of the post into the ground. For example:

• For a 6ft high fence (panel + gravel board), use an 8ft (2.4m) concrete post.

• For a 5ft high fence, use a 7ft (2.1m) concrete post.

How wide are the slots in standard concrete posts?

Standard UK slotted concrete posts feature channels that are approximately 50mm (2") wide. This easily accommodates standard 40mm to 48mm timber panel framing or standard 50mm concrete gravel boards.

How do I stop fence panels from rattling in concrete posts?

Because the slot is slightly wider than a standard timber panel, high winds can cause panels to rattle. To stop this:

• Insert plastic or rubber fence panel wedges into the slot alongside the panel frame.

• Use metal fence panel clips that screw into the timber frame and grip the inside of the concrete slot.

How do I install a fence panel on sloping ground using slotted concrete posts?

Use the stepping method. Set your concrete posts at different heights along the incline so each fence panel sits level. Use a taller gravel board or step the gravel board into the ground underneath to fill the triangular gap created at the bottom of each stepped section.
