The Mapei Primer G 1kg is a high-performance, synthetic resin-based water-dispersion primer engineered for surface preparation prior to tiling, self-levelling, or plastering. Designed for professional tilers, flooring contractors, and tradespeople, it is formulated to regulate substrate absorption, dust surfaces, and maximize the bond strength of subsequent adhesives, mortars, and smoothing compounds.
 
It is particularly effective when applied to difficult or highly absorbent substrates such as gypsum plasters, plasterboard, anhydrite screeds, and cementitious surfaces. By creating a barrier film, it prevents harmful chemical reactions between sulphate-bearing materials and cement-based tile adhesives.
 
Supplied in a convenient 1-kilogram trade tub, it features very low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, is quick-drying (often touch-dry within 2 hours depending on dilution and ambient conditions), and can be easily applied using a standard brush or roller.
