The Mapeguard UM 35 - Waterproofing, Uncoupling & Anti-Fracture Membrane 30m x 1m is a high-performance, multi-functional flooring membrane engineered to protect tiled surfaces from stress, cracking, and water infiltration. Designed for professional tilers, flooring contractors, and installers, it acts as a reliable decoupling layer that neutralizes lateral movement between the substrate and the tile covering.
 
Manufactured from a durable, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) backing layer bonded to a heavy-duty polypropylene non-woven fabric, this membrane is ideal for challenging subfloors prone to movement, such as timber overlay, freshly poured concrete, or underfloor heating systems. Its dimpled structure relieves stress caused by thermal expansion and substrate shrinkage, effectively preventing cracks from transferring through ceramic, porcelain, or natural stone tiles.
 
In addition to its anti-fracture properties, it functions as a certified waterproofing layer for wet rooms, bathrooms, and domestic shower areas when combined with appropriate sealing tape. Supplied in a large 30-metre by 1-metre roll, it is laid directly onto the substrate using a standard cementitious tile adhesive, providing a robust, long-lasting foundation for high-end domestic and commercial tiling installations.

Mapeguard UM 35 is suitable for waterproofing balconies and terraces since it creates an uncoupling and vapour compensation layer on damp substrates and/or on substrates that are not fully cured.
