What makes the "Alpha" finish unique compared to standard paving?

Brett Alpha features a tumbled (antiqued) texture. The blocks undergo a factory aging process that gently distresses the edges and surfaces, giving them a softened, weathered appearance inspired by traditional cobblestone.

Do I need a plate compactor mat when installing Brett Alpha?

Yes. Because Alpha blocks have a textured, tumbled surface, always use a rubber mat on your plate compactor (wacker plate) when consolidating the blocks into the jointing sand. Compacting directly with a bare metal plate can scratch or scuff the raised edges.

Can I lay Brett Alpha paving on a steep slope or inclined driveway?

Yes. To ensure stability on slopes, lay blocks from the bottom of the incline moving upward. Using a 45� or 90� herringbone pattern provides maximum interlock, which helps prevent the blocks from shifting under vehicular braking or acceleration forces.

How do I maintain and clean tumbled block paving?

Regularly sweep the driveway to clear leaves and debris. For general cleaning, use a mild detergent solution or a dedicated block paving cleaner with a stiff broom. Avoid using high-pressure jet washers directly on the joints at close range, as this can dislodge the jointing sand.
