| Timber
products have always been an important element
in garden design to harmonise effectively
with natural surroundings the timber needs
to be aged and weathered, both in colour
and more importantly, profile and texture.
New
timber, even rough sawn and stained, is
incapable of displaying the character weather-beaten
graining that is needed to make it look
as though it really belongs.
Stonemarket's
Timberstone range reproduces old boardwalks,
railway sleepers, timber setts, sawn branches
and cross-cut logs in high strength concrete
that is less slippery than wood and will
never rot, warp, splinter or need preservatives.
The realism of our Timberstone is such that
even when handling the product, many people
find it hard to believe that it is a reproduction.
Every piece is full of finely detailed character
and is available in a choice of two colour
effects: Coppice Brown replicates the shades
of damp woodland, while Driftwood portrays
the bleaching effect of exposure to sunlight
and moving water.
Timberstone
can be used in both horizontal and vertical
planes for a wide range of applications
such as paving, steps, edging, stepping
stones, palisades, raised planters, or
as decorative placings surrounded by natural
chippings or pebbles. It is particularly
appropriate for providing a durable hard
surface in those more delicate natural
style settings where stone or clay might
look somewhat intrusive.
